Registration is now open for the fall term, which begins the week of September 16th, 2024. Both in-person and online students are welcome, and trial lessons for potential new students are available upon request.

Along with regular private lessons, students will also get to enjoy learning/performing in group opportunities throughout the year - such as music theory classes, themed workshops, Favourites Music Nights, and our annual Christmas party/recital.

I look forward to welcoming students (both current and new) to the studio for a great term of music and learning!

... Announcing a tuition update for the upcoming 2024-2025 year, keeping it competitive while still offering excellent instruction and experience.

- Reservation for your time slot in the studio

- Time spent with the student (lessons, group classes)

- Time spent in preparation for the student.

This includes time spent tailoring specific curriculums for each individual student, weekly lesson planning, trips to music stores, bookkeeping, time put into communication with parents through newsletters/updates/emails, etc.,

- Studio costs: upkeep to instruments (tunings, repairs), printing music/worksheets, computer software for composing, ect.,

- Teaching resources: music books, learning manipulatives/games, incentive programs

- Monthly subscriptions and memberships for teachers that keep them up to date with current methods and techniques.

- Classes for teachers to enhance/improve their teaching styles to provide their students with the best education and learning opportunities

- Self-employed taxes and insurance

Most importantly, tuition is an investment in an amazing opportunity to learn and master skills that will benefit for a lifetime, along with experiencing a joy and fulfillment that playing music can bring.

Silver Music Studio had its annual spring recital which is a traditional, fun finale to close out the year before summer break! Silver Music Studio recently got a wonderful upgrade, with the addition of a stunning, new piano! It has already been getting so much love & bringing so much enjoyment to my students. I'm looking forward to many years of teaching skills on this instrument.

Our musical escape room workshop has been a long time favourite among the students! This year, they banded together to use their collective music and theory skills to crack the codes, & gather all the keys to the locks, escaping with a few minutes to spare!

My students worked diligently the past few months to prepare a variety of pieces (from Beethoven to the Beatles) for an afternoon of music, our Spring Recital 2022!

I recently came across this list of great practical tips for the musician of any age and level, written by Selina Setrakian, a freelance journalist and a regular contributor to Canadian Music magazine. She sums up nicely in her words, what is taught/learned in the studio (so to my students, these tips are most likely going to sound familiar to...
